Easter Bunny Pancakes

We took Kennedy to have pancakes with the Easter Bunny on Saturday morning. She was so excited and talked about it all week long. She even took her Easter basket full of bunnies with her. She made it clear she would not sit on the Bunny's lap, but would be happy to eat pancakes, wave hello and possibly smile for a photo. A bunch of her little friends were going as well, and I hoped being there with friends might help ease her fear of the bunny.

Saturday morning came and she could hardly wait. We went to a diner called Purple Cow and she wholeheartedly believed a purple wow would be serving her pancakes. I love to imagine the scene she set in her mind: a bipedal purple cow behind the griddle, the Easter bunny handing out eggs, pancakes everywhere, what a dreamworld!

Anyway, she powered through her pancakes (with syrup) and chatted with a few of her friends. Then the moment she had been waiting for, the Easter Bunny. And it was love at first sight. Oh, and by love, I mean terror. She only lasted a few minutes inside before begging Greg to take her outside. She happily waved at the bunny from the safety of the window while mommy collected a chocolate egg for her.

So all in all, it went pretty much exactly how I thought it would.

So excited to meet the Easter Bunny!
Winking and waiting for pancakes.

Sticky and sweet.

I'll admit, it was kind of a scary looking bunny.
