21 Week Update

We just got back from a fetal echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound that looks at the health of the baby's heart. Everything checked out great and the baby is doing well. Baby is about 10 cm long and moving around like crazy. I am feeling a lot more kicks and finally felt one when I put my hand across my lower belly.

During the ultrasound I kept feeling the baby "kick" in one particular spot, so the ultrasound tech moved over and showed me that the baby was pushing its little bum up against my belly.

Here are some pics of Baby Hunter at 21 weeks.

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday Greg and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary! If someone had shown me the picture on the right one year ago, I would have laughed and though they were nuts! We have had such an exciting first year of marriage and I am looking forward to many more to come.

19 Week Ultrasound

I had a check up and ultrasound on Friday and got a look at the baby. Everything looks very healthy and the baby weighs about 9 oz. The baby was moving around a lot but I can only feel little flutters every now and then. That will all change over the course of the next few weeks when I will be able to feel them much more distinctly.

The baby wasn't in the best position for the 3D pics this time - but we tried to get a few anyway. As the baby keeps growing and fattening up - the ultrasound pics will look a lot less bony!

We've chosen not to find out the gender and are still planning to wait and be surprised in the delivery room in July.

19 Week Update

My oh my, how things have changed in two short weeks. I went from a bump that really only Greg and I could see, to a bump that is visible to all! It is further accentuated by the stripes on my sweater today.

So far the second trimester has been pretty easy. Sleeping well, able to stay up past 8:00 pm and pretty much hungry all the time. I have a lot more energy now than I did during the first trimester and I think the hardest part has been adjusting to this growing belly.

We have a few doctor appointments this week - a fetal echocardiogram on Wednesday which looks at the health of the baby's heart through an ultrasound. And on Friday I have a regular check up and ultrasound with my doctor. I am pretty excited to get two ultrasounds back to back! This is the time where we can find out the gender of the baby, but as of right now, we are still planning to be surprised in the delivery room.
