On Saturday we baptized Kennedy and then celebrated her baptism with our family in NM. I really wanted my grandparents to be present for her baptism so we decided to do it at the church Greg and I were married in. We asked her Gruncle and Grauntie (great-uncle and great-aunt) Eddie and Anita to be her godparents. The ceremony was very intimate and instead of being part of mass, it was just our (big) family, a water fountain and a Deacon. He had everyone stand around the water feature and there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. I was so happy and grateful that so many of our family members were there, Big Poppa and Grammyflash even made the trip in from Midland. Kennedy loved having the water poured over her head and loved being the center of attention even more.
After the baptism and photo taking was finished, I took her out of her gown and let her splash and play in the water a little bit. She was so good during the ceremony so I felt like she had earned it, and it was super hot in the church.
We all went over to her godparents house for lunch, cake and lots of presents! Kennedy did great considering she missed her morning nap and loved playing with all her aunts, uncles and cousins.
